When your loved one moves into a facility you will have to sign a contract.

Be sure that the contract states:

How much you will be paying for your bed each month.

If there is a deposit, is it refundable?

Should your loved one leave the facility will you be reimbursed money pro rated  for any paid up to date rent.  (Most facilities do not refund-especially small facilities)

Make sure you have an Advance Directives completed and signed with a copy to your physician, to the facility, on file at the hospital and for your family.

A Power of Attorney is also a good idea to have in place.  Make copies of this record also.
